This RSS/Atom feed reader neatly fills the gap left in mail which no longer provides for this function. It is deceptively simple but does the job very proficiently. The developer has been very responsive to user requests which is reflected in this latest version.

Does not work with El Capitan

The Application is closing all the time, does not work at all! Paid, I bought more feeds and now regretted. Do not update for a long time!

feature removed

I have downloaded this app while ago, everyhing was ok than feature was removed and added as paid in app feature, now can not add new links, 8 is the limit, doesnt make sense.

(No Longer)Pleased and disappointed at the same time...

I downloaded the app to test the Safari RSS to LuckyNews integration which worked perfectly. One click and the RSS links gets enetered at a top level to LuckyNews Reader. I would like to see a option here to place it into a preset category or one of my established folders though. As next i must drag it into a folder to keep 100’s of feeds organized. Now to the disappoinmtents… 1) the app was upgraded with the $1.99 unlimited feed options which is a must for me. On relaunch of LuckyReader, it forgets the upgrade, wans me with a message “that I have -1 space available”. So I must open the “In-App Purchase Store”, authenicate to App Store, redownload and install the update to allow unlimited access. Third time in two days this has happened. So very frustrating! Get this fixed ASAP. 2) secondly the app forgets feed options like “favicons” and my preferred Subscription > Show full HTML instead of RSS for Articles option frequently. 3) lastly right clicking/option clicking on a folder name whilst another article is hilighted, does nothing. Any pop up menu item is ignored completely. Future suggestions: -Colour coded folders/feeds to identify importance or function. -Proper toolbar to update /refesh feeds, alter folders, add/delete feeds, feeds format (rss/html), open in browser opposed to the semi disguised lower bar that feels uncomfortable and hidden. I understand that app development is not easy, and of all the RSS apps (outside of my fav Pulp), this one seems to be the best app for simplicity, clarity and abaility to manage large qty of feeds. UPDATE: The app now no onger can handle more than 50 feeds of 25 articles each. It crashes constantly on all feed folders of 26+ feeds. When it does stay open it demands a feedback for the author…my feedback…learm to list to your customers. This is a piece of garbage programming. Time to move on.

Work incorrectly on 10.9

Run under 10.9 - repaint content incorrectly in full screen or after resize window. Can’t use this program.

Great app

and great support. Thank you.

Not right for me -- no in-app browser, seems out-of-date

Maybe this suits some users needs, but it feels behind the times to me.

Luck News

When I bought my new Mac mini shortly after Thanksgiving, I discovered I lost all of my RSS feeds. I really enjoyed reading the articles and also found the new mail app did not support RSS feeds. Luck News makes it possible now to access RSS feeds. Great job with the programming; it is very easy to set up and use.

Too bad RSS was dropped from the Mac OS but, this is a good fix.

I was looking for a reader that wasnt dependent on Google. Luck News has turned out to be a handy little app. Simple and unobtrusive, it gets a little more user friendly w/ each tweak. The developer is responsive as well. I have no connection other than as a satisfied user.

A very nice, lightweight RSS reader

LuckNews is a nice, lightweight RSS reader that doesnt need Google Reader to function. The program imported my old subscriptions (in an OPML file) with nary a hiccup, saving me the effort of manually re-adding a whole slew of feeds that Ive subscribed to over the years. The developer is very responsive, and is already working on my one interface quibble -- the ability to open clicked links in a Web browser in the background (right now, clicking a link causes the browser to steal focus). Count me as another satisfied user...

Works well so far

Though a novice at news readers with the Mac, this set up easily and has performed as advertised. One puzzle, though, and I recognize that maybe Im doing somethink wrong, is that after reading the news it will leave the last article in the folder. The next time I read articles in that same feed, each time I advance to the next article, the last one will be eliminated but the last one read will remain again. Seems like odd behavior.

Really nice RSS Reader

I have used several rss news readers in the past, and some new ones Ive downloaded more recently. Many of them are really great but this one I like the most, mainly because I find its the fastest in loading feeds and quickest in swiping through my articles, thereby taking less time to read my feeds and get on with my work. I like the font and design which is easy on the eyes, making it enjoyable and easy to read articles quickly. The feed loading time is lightning fast and I like the over-all design. The only thing Id like to request be added, would be once I click on a news feed, have the focus area scroll back up to the top of the list so I can start reading from the top to the bottom. Other than that, I love it! Edit: The developer was quick to respond to my request and emails and kindly added the feature I requested above, so now one can either choose to have the feeds focus scroll back up to the top of the list and read down or choose to have the focus begin where they last left off. Great Work!!!!

Best customer support Ive seen

I never take the time to review apps, but I had to make an exception for Luck News. I just downloaded it and after a couple of successful subscriptions I ran into a roadblock. I almost deleted the app, but thank goodness I didnt and I emailed customer support instead. I assumed it would be days before I got a response, if ever. To my surprise, within an hour I receved an email with some suggestions, which was quickly followed up by two more emails with further details. Not only did the suggestions provide the solution, the responses were professional, courteous, and very specific to my problem (in other words, generated by an actual human being, not a computer program). I highly recommend this app!

update please!

Not working with Maverick, please help!

Pre-Mavericks is great...I expect the Mav

LuckNews saved my bacon, so to speak--as the social media director for a non-profit, its been the best solution for tracking multiple RSS feeds from trusted news sources. Before updating to Mavericks, I checked the developers website (always a good idea, pre-update). Hes aware of the hiccups in Mavs and has submitted a new version to Apple for review. Given how great the Lion version was, I have no doubt 2.0.5 will also be a home run. Definitely worth the wait.

INSTALLED AND BOUGHT ADDITIONALSPACE FOR FEEDS

On the 2nd launch it displayed all my feeds!

Great app

This is a really nice news reader app. It’s easy to use and configure. I use it to read the blogs of all my cruising (sailing) friends. It is much easier than going to each site in a web browser.

It would be great if you could add more than 8 feeds

You have to purchase extra capacity if you want more than 8 feeds which is fine if it would just let you do this but all I get is a message telling me it can’t connect to the App store. I hope they get this worked out.

This is my new favorite RSS app

I had no trouble unlocking the extra feed capacity to unlimited with the $2 in app purchase. This is a great rss app, I’m glad I found it!

Works great

I used to use Blogshelf on my iPad and when I switched to a MacBook Air, I needed an RSS app to keep up with things. This works great for me. Very easy to set up and use.
